End of 2015 eventing season... Part 2

12th November 2015
So in my part 1 end of season blog I mentioned a bit about what Trad & I have been up to… Or not. Check it out if you haven’t read it...

So what else have I been up to? Well of course I’ve been out and about with my camera!!

This year I don’t think went to as many events as in 2014, however I've been to more than I planned! Initially this was because I was busy with Trad, plus of course we got our lovely German Shorthaired Pointer, Otto at Christmas. I've been really dedicated with his training going nearly every Sunday morning to classes so this has meant I've missed some events. In fact 10 month on we're still going nearly every weekend and he’s now in the advanced group and alongside lots of older dogs.

Otto at 2 and 12 months old - love him!

When Trad went lame it did mean I could get back to more horse events with my camera! Once again my photography was a mixture of press attendance for The Eventing Stig and supporting my sponsored rider Harriet Upton and her ever growing team of lovely talented horses. I did a couple of eventing photo shoots for riders & corporate clients, plus at Blair I joined up with the lovely Sarah from The Gaitpost, providing her with images on a daily basis to add to their online reports – that was good fun and a mini look into what a real press photographer has to do every day.

New events I went to this year included:

* Somerley (turns out it’s last one as cancelled all future events)
* Houghton (stunning venue - middle of nowhere)
* Upton House (I think I might have been there once back in early 00’s… Maybe)
* Blair (wow needs a whole blog to itself, stunning days in sun, horrid XC day in the rain)
* LMEQ (first ever event for them, good to have a new venue with so many stopping recently)

My photographer colleagues in the main arena at Blair... Not a bad backdrop!

All of these new events have their own little stories and I should really write post event blogs on all of them. Maybe I will in 2016, I won't promise but I'll try harder!

As well as these new one’s other events I attended were as much fun as the new ones, particularly as Lisa and Otto joined me for most of them! Here's the rest of the list…

* Hambleden
* Aston Le Walls (twice)
* Barbury
* Gatcombe (Festival of Eventing)
* Farley Hall
* Upton House
* Wellington
* Blenheim

Many of these are favourites but for different reasons, so it's hard to pick the ultimate event of the season, but for me it just has to be Blair. The biggest and best event I've had the pleasure to photograph at… thus far – I still need to do my first 4*.

Below is a tiny a selection of photos from the season that I very quickly picked out... Of course I have taken hundreds so check out the gallery to see more!

I wish everyone a good winter and look forward to seeing everyone in 2016!
